Woman fatally shot in Abington home Enlarge this imageABINGTON, Mass. -- A man called police and confessed to shooting his wife more than a dozen times during a jealous rage, a prosecutor said Wednesday at a hearing where the man pleaded not guilty in his wife's murder. John Tassinari, 29, called 911 to report the shooting Tuesday night, telling police "his wife had been cheating on him and he shot her more than 12 times," Assistant District Attorney Shelby Smith said during his arraignment in Brockton District Court. Barbara Tassinari, 29, was found face down in the driveway of the couple's home with 12 gunshot wounds, Smith said. John Tassinari was arrested after neighbors who heard gunshots called police. He was ordered held without bail Wednesday. Abington Police Chief David Majenski said Tassinari used two guns, a .45-caliber and a .40-caliber. He was issued a firearms permit in 2004, and more guns were found in the home, Majenski said. Police said they had not been called to the couple's home for reports of domestic violence before Tuesday night. Tassinari's lawyer, William F. Sullivan, declined to comment on the jealousy motive outlined by prosecutors. "It's obviously a horrific incident, but I think it's at this point kind of early to be commenting on the evidence that led up to this," Sullivan said. (Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press. Cara. Posted May 10, 2008 This seems to be a case of a crazy gun owner. If it wasn't the wife that day it would've been the annoying neighbor or the cashiers at the bank. He's been building an arsenal for a reason. JB isn't like that Malika. I'm pretty sure he would also support a woman who did the same thing.
winnie Posted May 10, 2008 but would the reaction be as passionate? there have been a number of high profile attempted murders in the U.S., involving women who tried to kill a cheating partner. the general concensus was that she was "crazy", and a more popular term was the word for a female dog.
