Muhammad Posted October 7, 2005 "If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle." SUN TZU ON THE ART OF WAR peace to all, I'm curios of how much do we realy know about our next door neighbors, specially our so called, 'eternal nemesis', Ethiopia? I open this thread, so that we can educate ourselfs about this country, that is not going to move away, no matter how much we wish so, it will remain our neighbor, and we must learn to live with it. If Germany and France can get along, who said, we can't? I'm going to began this subject with one fact that deeply interests, and sometimes suprises, me: close to 1/2 of Ethiopians are Muslim: 45%-50%, with Christianity as second; 35%-40% and according to the population growth rates, Ethiopia will become a Muslim majority country in the near future. How does this change our view? what is the Somali's relationship with; - the Oromo - the Amhara - the Tigrey - the Sidamo - the Shankella - the Afar - the Gurage? or do we put them all in the same basket?
