Cowke Posted May 28, 2010 Below is a video done by unicef regarding safe drinking water in Bossaso. UNICEF Please pay attention closely when the reporter says "Bosaso is the northern hub of the nation and has the busiest port in Somalia" around the 0:09 to 0:20 mark right at the beginning of the video. I think that settles it pretty much regarding who has the most thriving city in Somalia. You never hear people say mogadishu or berbera mis the busiest ports but you will hear people say that Bossaso is. Anyways i am also happy to see that running water is being provided to the disadvantaged in our society, but lets not stop there we need to continue and continue and help all somalis h as as much as we possibly can!!! Cowke Posted May 28, 2010 Nassir, yeah. It's good to see how much effort puntland puts into the idp, you will never see that in other parts of somalia it just shows how their somalinimo comes before anything. But I was happy to see unicef finally declare the inevitable that Bossaso is truly the next "BIG THING" in Somalia
Thankful Posted May 28, 2010 Cowke, So the Puntland government didn't build the Water Treatment Project?? Because at 1:20, she says that it was constructed with Unicef and the European Union support? Even on the wall at 1:00 it only has the EU and Unicef flags as the builders and says supported by Unicef, funded by EU? Yet, no mention of the Puntland governments involvement! Cowke Posted May 28, 2010 Thankful yes this was funded by unicef this project. I am not sure if puntland contributed or not but that is not what I posted the video for in the first place. I posted the video because it finally admits that bossaso is truly the next big thing in somalia and has the fastest port in the nation and hopefully once the airport is the done the biggest airport in the nation

Thankful Posted May 28, 2010 Cowke, well it's quite obvious that Bosasso's port would be number one. There is no way that Mogadishu and Kismayo will have a high volume of ships coming in, considering the violence there and the group that is in control! NW Somalia's port in Bebera charges a high fee from what I hear! This video has a lot of informative stuff, especially regarding Puntlands generosity to IDP's! Cowke Posted May 29, 2010 Thankful, yeah I know always knew Bossaso was the fastest port but it's nice to see that it is being confirmed right on unicef tv. By the way puntlanders have been doing ok, they are doing so much work for the IDP'S it's not funny. For example look at these new homes being built for them. Projects like this need to be expanded.
