Gabbal Posted January 22, 2005 This is actually the first of its kind in Gedo and I hope it's the last. Economic development is of the upmost importance and that comes only after the guns have been put aside. I hope this long awaited peace transpires. Zaylici Posted January 26, 2005 Gado region has seen a recurring civil war for quite some time, we hope this leads to sustained peace;however, I remain sceptical, local Clan relations and wishes of peace are susceptible to the intervention of Tigray dominated government in Addis Ababa, unless comprehensive peace is reached in African Horn between Christian and Muslim tribes, civil wars both in Ethiopia and in Somalia are inavitable. I encourage you, Hornafrique, to take the matter of Horn of Africa seriously and make it life long study and persuit, this I believe would make a difference. You have already possess, in my judgment, the propensity and recurring desire to make a difference, why not get the necessary intellectual armoury to make a real difference and leave the rest to posterity, unless you have already done it. Gabbal Posted January 26, 2005 I remain sceptical, local Clan relations and wishes of peace are susceptible to the intervention of Tigray dominated government in Addis Ababa, Zaylici, formerly yes, but there wasn't much effort on the people's side to reconcile anyhow. At the very sign of truouble, the parties who essentially "goosteen" would run across the border to an ever waiting contingent of Habesh soldiers ready to embark on their next trip to Gedo. However, I believe that time is over and the people have realized their interest. Zaylici I already take the political situation of the greater Horn seriously and I'm very well aware of the effect our neighbor's policies have on us and vice versa. I do plan to increase my knowledge of the area and would like to participate in the politics of Horn somewhere in the future. I thank your encouragement bro.
