Yesterday when the war was waging in Khatumo, FG was telling Khatumo to negotiate with Bixi and was recognising Khatumo as part of Somali land. what has changed?

the FG decision to recognise Khatumo is a political one.

 

We will see after 8 January, when the reason they recognise Khatumo is no longer there, whether they will recent this decision or will obey it. The minimum, i think they will attach conditions such as Banadir recognition.

 

time will tell.

i think khaatumo will still participate Puntland election, the reason Deni clearly articulated why. Because the current Khatumo administration is " Ku meel gaar", the Khatumo community need time and space to come together and decide when they want to divorcee Puntland, that will definitely be after the election, only three months left.

 

after that whoever is Puntland president will convey a meeting with all Hxxti, and decide a new formula for power sharing.

Unwise and unlikely, but Pland and SSC have many things to settle. Once, that's settled, Pland needs to reimagine its political structure.

Also, many of SSC would repel, if PL claims their land, and will backfire.

There is no road between Las Anod, Sool districts and Las Qoray, Badhan/Dhahar. And aside from clan connections, the socio-economic connections of regions and linkages differ. 

Not everything can be based on clan connections, specially for shared governance (Maamul) there needs to be a historic or atleast socio-econimic logic of shared connections, linkages and interest. In that sense Berbera has closer connections to Maakhir than Las Anod has. And Burco has closer connections to Buhoodle and Bocame, than Badhan has. 

At the of the day, when the clan postering and fevers have reached its heights and one is ready to work on common interest and shared services one needs to sit down with eachother and talk real governance.
