nuune Posted May 17, 2009 All credits to Berbera airport, it has a capacity that no other Somali airport got Here is the reasons: Berbera Airport GPS Location: Latitude: N10.22,54 Longitude: E044.55,59 Dimensions: 4000m x 50m Elevation 30’ Type of Airstrip Surface: asphalt/ concrete Mogadishu Airport GPS Location Latitude: N02.06,77 Longitude: E045.28,84 Elevation: 100’ Dimensions 2000m x 35m Type of Airstrip Surface asphalt Yep, Mogadishu airport can handle all types of aircrafts even, but Hargeisa airport needs alot of work, they are way behind PS: Kudos to da guys who r behind, once a week flight not bad, dat is how other somali airlines do as well, once per week flight. And the plane is not that big even Hargeisa airport can handle this plane, but Hargeisa airportrunway is not as hard as berbera one

Instead of taking a flight from Berbera to Hargeisa (for example) with $50, they prefer to go by taxi with maybe $10 And many people do not travel in the first place ,,,, imagine a flight from hargeisa to Burao with only 3 people ,,, That is true couz. Local flight won't work in Somaliland. Maybe Ceergaabo would need it in the future but how many people would travel to Ceergaabo in weekly bases? I don't know. Daalo tried Hargeisa to Burco in the summer and that didn't work either because of the reasons you mationed above. Most people enjoy landing Hargiesa and staying there for few days, meeting with relatives there then traveling to Burco or Borama by car. It's so refereshing to drive through those mountains in either side of the capital. It's only 2 to 3 hours drive.
