Also, wasnt ''Somaliland'' been used to unload weapons that Ethiopia used to levell Mogadishu districts and massacre Somali people?

Mintid Farayar Posted January 14, 2009 Twisted, Substantiate that allegation that Ethiopian weapons were unloaded from Berbera or passed through Somaliland territory. Let's not engage in hearsay. Almost everything that goes on in the region is now under the international microscope. There's a whole UN Security Council Committee devoted to Weapons Flows in Somalia. This committee has for years documented weapon transfers to every different faction in Somalia as well as weapons in transit through the Somali peninsula. These reports never mention Ethiopian weapons transhipping through Berbera. Yet the same reports have documented Ethiopian transfers of weapons through the borders of Southern Somalia both for themselves and different factions within the South. So please bring forth this proof that you have of Ethiopian weapons moving through Somaliland territory. We're waiting....

Twisted_Logic Posted January 14, 2009 Minitd Farayar, It is open secret that Ethiopia uses Berbera port for its needs, both economic as well as military. With the inauguration of the Berbera corridor, it has become publicly known that Ethiopia transports its goods (both economic as well as military) via this corridor. Also Ethiopia has military ties with the militia of the secessionist state like it has ties with the other warlord entities in Somalia. Here are a couple of sources which can indicate the level of Ethiopian involvement with Berbera port: ''Ethiopian armour was withdrawn and dispatched via the port of Berbera'' Security Council report dated 10 December 2008 http://www.reliefweb.int/rw/RWFiles2008.nsf/FilesB yRWDocUnidFilename/EGUA-7MGRHD-full_report.pdf/$Fi le/full_report.pdf --- ''The Monitoring Group has also learned that Somaliland has developed a close relationship with Ethiopia on transport and security matters. The Berbera corridor, inaugurated in the presence of an Ethiopian delegation in mid-November 2005, allows for the use of the Berbera Port for transiting cargo by road to Ethiopia. Ethiopia has provided support to Somaliland on military and intelligence matters, reciprocated by actions against ONLF elements based in Somaliland, including the handing over of such elements to the Ethiopian Army. The Monitoring Group has received information that the Somaliland Armed Forces received weapons and military equipment from Ethiopia, and that several Somaliland army officers have undergone combat training in Ethiopia, delivered by instructors from the Ethiopian National Defence Force and the United States Army. The Monitoring Group expects to receive information from the Ethiopian and United States Governments on this allegation (see sect. II.G).'' Security Council report dated: April 2008. Now we all know, Ethiopia never gives something for free. So what was the price for training the ''Somaliland Armed forces''? Secrecy of weapons shipment through Berbera? ---- Also, everybody knowes Ethiopia imports goods in containers which the Somali people in Berbera port have no clue of. http://www.somalilandtimes.net/199/16.shtml Pay attention to this piece: ''Last Wednesday's cargo was brought in 40ft containers that most Somaliland vehicles are not technically fit to transport. Keen to give chance for Somaliland vehicles to take a better share of the transport business expected to be generated by Ethiopia's use of Berbera port for import/export operations, Ethiopian cargo receivers have indicated that in the future they will ask their agents to utilize 20ft containers for shipment of their orders. '' In other words, Ethiopia transports its own goods via Berbera by Ethiopian vehicles. I wonder what kind of equipment the 40ft container was transporting.. xiinfaniin Posted January 14, 2009 Abu Zubeyr is an honest man. Unlike many, he did not merely talk the talk. He walked it. He’s a genuine fighter. And there is no dispute on that. He is not a scholar however. Janaqow is. Being able to cite raw nusuus does not prove ones grasp of the deen. And that is exactly what Abu Zubeyr has done. Contrast that how Janaqow delved in the intricacy of Somali question. How he went back in time to demarcate the theological slippery slopes of previous era. How he went on a great length and laid bare the well-founded justifications in taking the route Jabbuuti group took in search of peace and political stability. If you are still confused about these two men, pay attention to their closing arguments. They could not be more divergent. Abu Zubeyr: the world is divided between kufri and muslim. We are on the right side of that equation. Those who oppose in the name of culumaa are serving our enemies. This is not new. It happened before. The fight shall go on regardless of what Uncle Sheikhs say. Janaqow: the world is much more complex than how alshabaab youths depict it to be. Those who oppose us are Muslim Somalis, we are all Muslims but our views and approaches are very different. The takfiiri manhaj is very dangerous. Alshabaab brothers are wrong. Talking to the enemy has a solid religious justification. The rationale of talking to the other Somali political actors is very clear. It’s to lessen the bloodshed and find a peaceful way out of this mess. Doing so cant be the basis of takfiir.

RedSea Posted January 14, 2009 Twisted logic, He is a traitor and terrible one at that. Just because he hails from your clan doesn't make him any less of a one. What do you call a man who has declared Jihad on Ethiopian troops, put his young boys in harms' way. And instead of fighting like a man; ran across the border to Kenya to meet with the CIA and later slept comfortably in Asmara and Yemen and Djibouti while the battle he started raged on? To top it off, he has returned to sign unilateral treaties with the same enemy that he declared Jihad on while his homeland is still being occupied, his people being suppressed. He has sided against his people and country. He betrayed his countrymen and most importantly his compatriots like Ahmed Godane. lol@Janaqow is a scholar. He is emotional in this piece. He's full of rhetoric. He made no seriously and concise reference to the Qu'ran and Sunnah if you listened to his 20 minute nonsense. It's also known fact that the so call Islamic courts union (who have denigrated to clannish level) are weak and non functioning. Just take a look at the bases which were left by the Ethiopian troops. The first to claim it were IndhaCade and Co. a member of Islamic Courts. He didn't fight for it, as Godane said. When the Alshabab forces liberate Somalia, they too will jump on the bandwagon and say we were there doing the dirty work for you. If things don't go according to plan, they protest and accuse of others mistakes.
