Jacaylbaro Posted August 4, 2007 Mogadishu 04, August.07 ( Sh.M.Network)- Lawmakers of Somalia's interim parliament have voted for the dismissal of Hussein Mohammed Aided, an MP and member of the opposition group, making up more than 30 lawmakers, including former speaker, Sharif Hassan, in Asmara, Eritrea. Sheik Aden Madobe, the parliament speaker, announced that Aided was sacked after he could not report to the parliament to execute his duties for more than four months. His motion was supported by the majority of the MPs. "I am telling the elders from the clan of Hussein Mohammed Farah Aided to appoint another candidate who will replace him," said Mr. Madobw after the motion was approved. On August 1, legislators were deadlocked over whether to vote for enabling the parliament to have the capacity to know more about the decisions made by the Western-backed transitional government. Asha Abdalla, a lawmaker, lashed out at Prime Minister, Ali Mohammed Gedi, stating that his government was illegitimate and that its mandate expired already. She called on the president to come forward before the parliament and take part in resolving the deadlock within the legislative body. "It is legal that the government should ask for confident votes from the parliament for every single judgment it is making, and it is our federal charter," she said in an interview with Shabelle. Nonetheless, Salad Ali Jelle, Somalia's deputy defense minister and lawmaker, opposed the notion, indicating that it was not the time for the parliament argue about such a motion. "My bureau has done a great job for this country. I do not anticipate that the parliament should debate whether it must ask to keep abreast of my decisions, but I rather expect compliments from the transitional parliament," he said while addressing the legislators. Since the ouster of former dictator, Siad Barre, Somalia has had no effective government.
