There is no OPPOSITION in Somalia!

I do not understand why some sections of the Somali Media and even some so-called intellectuals are using this disgusting word. I think it's just out of political correctedness and perhaps even a doze of cowardness( desire to be seen a "neutral, the ultimate cowardnes). On the other hand it could be due a large doze of ignorance, in which case they are forgiven.

 

Opposition/Mucarad is a dirty and disgraceful terminology given that fact there are no two equal groups or political parties warring for power in Somalia and Somalia does not have what can be termed as a proper government. There are no mulptiple parties competing for power or peaceful handovers of power. One can't freely oppose or offer an alternative system of government without being attacked by terrorists Woyanes. Opposition is a term used to describe parties that challenge dictatorships or elected governments in their own countries. In some cases those that violently challenge the status or quo or ruling government are referred to as "rebels" or "insurgents". This is not the case in Somalia as an outside force came to violently and barbarically impose their will on the population at large.

 

 

This is also the case from an Islamic Perspective: a Muslim land under occupation can not possibly have a government and everything made by the occupying powers is thus baadil( falsehood) and can only lead a to a great fitna. Some confuse this with " obeying the ruler", something that relates to the situation between Muslims themselves and not outsiders! Remember the Soviets were also supposedly " requested" and " invited" by the Communist Collaborators of Afghanistan, and consequently the peoples movement of that era was referred to as, " Mujahideen" or " Freedom Fighters". That was even by the Western media.

 

Here is are some alternative words that can be used:

 

 

1. Mujahideen( not to be confused with the "Jihadists Terrorists" vilified in the media)

 

2. Resistance

 

3. Peoples Patriotic movement

 

4. Freedom Fighters

 

5. Cidaanka Soomaalida Difaca

 

6. Cidaanka Islaamka Difaca
