Hashim Posted January 31, 2004 if we look back the somali modern history we see that the inhabitants of this trangle area of somalia (Harg-Berb-Burco) were like other soamlis benefited/suffered the freedom of pour nation. during 1960's they took part of the democratic process which was one of the best democracies in Africa. the prime minister of the last democratic elected government was from that area. when the military government took the power however, they didn't loose too much, on the contrary they got a lion share. for example, one of the 5 supreme revolutionary council and vice presidents was Gen. Ismail Ali Abokor in addition the prominent foreign affairs minister Omar arteh qalib, in addition to that many military and civilian from the triangle were in high ranks of this revolutionary government; here are some of them: Gen. Ismail ahmed Ismail head of Soamli Jail Guards which was known (Ciidanka Asluubta) Gen. Jamac Mohamed qalib head of the police, also two of Soamli three military divisions coimmanders were from that area, plus many ministers and deputy ministers, managers enz. in his latest days siyad barre created prime minister post and we know that Mohamed xawadle madar and Cumar carte qaleb (who both were former ministers) were the last prime ministers of Somalia. There is no disbute that Jirde Xusen (A.h.n) was the richest man in Somali and as we know he had skyscrapers in Mogadisho, he and many other tycoons like Ali jirdeh were also from that area. Many observers believe that the uprising of the people of that area was not merely as the result of oppression of Siyad barre's regime (which was normal in many somali regions) but as a result of the wealth (both from home and abroad) and the power which they acquired during siyad barre's rule. in conclusion, the interest of these and all Somali brothers is the UNITED and JUSTICE based Somali government which everybody get what he deserves and not seperation and hate which could destroy themselves before anybody else.
