Posted December 17, 2007 2002 – 2004 • Somalia the war ravaged failed state, 13 attempts to form a government 13 failures • A genius suggests “ Why don’t we let the warlords who have ravaged the country run it” “applauds everywhere” 2004 • After a long period of negotiation the warlords decide on forming a house of parliament • Against all expectations old dog Yey wins in a dramatic fashion the presidency • Yay the Euphoria a new government is born 2004 – 2006 • Some warlords unhappy with the new government that they are members of refused its entry into Mogadishu • For the next 2 years the government is wondering from town to town like lost children • In the mean time the American “War on Terror” reaches horn of Africa, Warlords in Mogadishu want to make a quick buck so they start shipping teachers, judges and elders to US war ships and Djibouti • The Teachers, judges and elders fight back • Warlords are defeated Summer 2006 • the pearl of Africa Mogadishu starts to function properly for the first time in 17 years • The Teachers and Judges have told the government this is your capital come and claim it • The Euphoria the excitement • Wait a minute hold your horses this story is not over yet “Break” A pop quiz Who gave safe haven to the defeated warlords? Isn't this a bit of a stretch from the truth, now have the UIC not been contained other dominant movers and shakers of the Somali politik than a mare teachers and judges... I would fairly think so...
