Paragon Posted October 2, 2007 ^^If they (the Ethiopians) can't control then they will burn it; to control who gets back in and to get their names so as to exort taxes from them. That is another way of looking at it. The market has been completely cut off the last few days, emptying people form it and now- the last act of the play was performed. The Ethiopians, for them to extort taxes from the occupants of the Bakaara, know that burnt or not burnt, business people would return back to it. So what better way to exert control from the get-go .
General Duke Posted October 2, 2007 The TFG [political masters of the AU forces] havenothing to gain by torching the market. The defeated groups who have lost revenue because of their exile, will as soem are doing highlight to the world that the governemnt and allies are trying to destroy property and so on. This issue is not a major one, the market and others like the largest and oldest Bacadle [which is reopenning after 17 years] will come back to business and the situation will be no more than a small incidnet which will ahve no baring on the situation. Hope the fire comes under control soon.
Che -Guevara Posted October 2, 2007 That was typo Duke..I meant certain sections of Xamar. It is clear Ethios are using scorch earth policy to uproot the Xamar population in order to take care of the insurgency. Paragon...Qaybdiid was the first thing that came when I saw the title of the thread.

Janagale_bi-idnilah Posted October 3, 2007 hopefully the fire comes under controlled, however what is the TFG supposed to do if these markets are becoming shelters for the insurgents, meanwhile used to constantly attack the government troops.....To be honest, I would not be suprised if there was some fire exchanged, which ignited the fire at the paint warehouse.....anywayz, if these businessmens don't get their shiit together, and then it would be reasonable to burnt it down..rite??? wat difference there is between ONE who attacks the TFG troops, and ONE who shelters the attackers....No difference, therefore both should be punished severely... Some three years later, the tables have turned and faces have become exposed, indeed. Juje, who clearly opposed AY and the Ethiopians for clan/wordly reasons, is today an official slave of the AMISOM and an employee taking part in the continued destruction of the Bakara market, the surrounding areas, and the general gencoide being waged against the pure Somali people.
