TFG continue discussing PEACE with clan leaders

 

 

President of the Transitional Federal Government (TFG) of Somalia, Abdullahi Yusuf continued meeting and discussing with clan leaders, civil society group and former politicians in Somalia.

of jointly working in the ongoing effort to maintain peace and security in Somalia.

 

President Abdullahi on the occasion expressed the government’s readiness to engage and closely work with leaders of various clans, religious leaders and civil society in the country.

 

The president also lauded the decision of the ........ to jointly work with the government and the moral support it provided for the TFG so far.

 

The president on the occasion requested members of the sub-clan to further enhance their participation on the ongoing efforts to restore peace and security in the country.

 

Leader of the , Dr. Mohammed Faraha Jemahale on his part said peace and stability are the top most priority needs of the Somali people.

 

Dr. Mohammed affirmed his clan’s readiness to jointly work with the TFG in the process of forming administrative bodies at 16 administrations in all parts of the country.

 

Dr. Mohammed stated that the sub-clan will soon disarm and merge its 1,500 militias with the national army and police forces in the country.

 

All war lords in Mogadishu on Friday signed an agreement with the Transitional Federal Government (TFG) of Somalia to disarm their militia and work with the TFG.

 

The agreement was signed after TFG President Abdullahi Yusuf and the Prime Minister Ali Mohammed Gedi met and discussed with the war lords in Mogadishu.

 

TFG Spokesman Abdurrahman Dinari told Ethiopian journalists in Mogadishu on Friday that eleven war lords have reached an agreement with the TFG to disarm their militia and handover ammunitions, battle wagons and other artilleries to the TFG forces.

 

The war lords have also set up a committee of 12 members that will facilitate the disarmament process, the TFG spokesman said.

 

The TFG has also agreed to recruit and reintegrate the disarmed militias with the national army and police force in the future, Dinari said.
