It is possible, the man was greedy and cared less for Islam..Killing Sheikhs in broad day light, wasn't enough for Somalis to upraise but alas! he started the clan game they stand up..Islam was never a priority, so why be surprised he entertained and was involved with such organisations.

IsseRiyole,

Aboowe, history is all about dead men/women,past events and without discussing, talking about it we will not move forward..A lot is learned from history, now the man was and is part of the Somali history..He will be talked, discussed, cur sed, praised until doomsday..

^^ Love the certainty there. :D

Whatever he was or was not, none of it matters now (unless you're someone with a point to prove or an amateur historian).

Stuff and nonsense.

^^Markuu soo qaxay buu salaada bilaabay :D . In the prime days of his regime, the man was singing a Marxist tune

It’s true though that he joined the congregation after the fall of his regime. I saw someone who saw him praying his last days in Lagos. Khaatima fiican bay ahayd.

Laakiin off Barre it can be said he was shrewd in the negative sense :D Wax walba waa ka suuroobeen

Athiests are too arrogant & passionate about their beliefs to lie about it. His motivation was power, and if that meant fake praying to jesus to please some donors in washington, so be it. He probably convinced himself it was for the greater good.

A leader is a product of his environment. Today certain somali leaders have kidnapped and handed over Muslims to non-muslims for power. Invite non muslim armies to occupy their land for power. These are among some of the acts of Riddah going on today under your nose. What he did is a shame, if true, but at least Siad Barre can say, 'I was just paying lip service'. What can the folks today say.
