Thunder Posted October 4, 2003 Asalaamu 3alaykum Whoever is "selected" in Kenya as Somalia's president will be a Dic - tator and wo things will never happen in Somalia. Somalia will never have a democratic government, and it will never have an Islamic government unless all Somali people change their ways of thinking. This whole thing about "qabiil" is a control mechanism politicians ( I don't know if they qualify for such a title) use for Somalis. Whatever agenda they are after, or whatever truth they want to hide, qabiil has been an effective tool. I bet many of you didn't know that drugs grow in Afgoi where fruits use to grow and innocent somalis are slalved to grow these drugs or that churches were built in some parts of Somalia? So how will a new somali government be different from those of the past. The "government" will be a pupet regime to supress the ambitions of the people, the natural resources of the country will be exploited by foriegn investers- be it an oil exploration, military bases etc and etc. Any political opposition to this government's policies will be crushed with the blessing of certian countries If democratic government happens in Somalia, it wouldn't be good for many foriegn countries that have economical, political and ideological interests in the region. If an Islamic government happens Somalia, it wouldn't be good for many foriegn agencies, countries hostile towards Islam and its unity etc etc. Current Somali situation only harms Somalis. Kenya's economy greatly benefits from Somali's mess, Ethiopia loves Somalia's condition -hence no help for our brothers/sisters strugling in Ogadenia, Somali warlords and their financiers make riches of Somalia's natural resources. What about the rest of Somalis - refugess in their own homes, refugee in camps, hard living in Europe made worest by racist policies aimed at assimilating their children into a judeo-Christian values, north America's racist policies towards immigrants...etc, etc? These same people have become victims once again to a "somali" media -BBC, somalinet....etc, etc, whether intentional or not they have made most Somalis that subscribe to their garbage "repots" forget about the cause of current misery and actually encourage more of it -- this is physical and psychological abuse. Somaliaonline, it was the best at its younger days, can start a change and take the "politics" section out entirely -- just a suggestion from a typical Nomad.
