We have failed and we need a rethink....

Recommended Posts

Somalia has failed.

Somaliland has failed, Puntland has failed.

The TFG and its son Midnimo Qaran has failed.

The “religious” groups and al Shabaab have failed.

The large Diaspora has failed.

Its time for a rethink and a peaceful revolution no more inter Somali violence.

The greatest enemy is ourselves and the dependence on these vampire NGO’s.

Hello Duke. Did you just wake up out of a coma? smile.gif

Somalia has been a failure for the last 25 years. They say though, better be late than never and i would like for you to first of all to start "rethinking" your position.

If it starts with you,i am sure many will follow. Great idea though smile.gif

Farah-Brown: Adeer as usual you contribute nothing to the debate and one never expected you could. As for the post its about rethinking the whole position and taking a holistic approach. My positions if you can go past your clan bias has always been about unity, self determination and improving the life of each and every Somali. Thus it has not changed and insha Allah will never.

Che: Adeer nothing major is but I wanted to be fair thus added the state to the rest.

The problem is most Somali’s actually believe what they are doing is noble, however most don’t have the competency to achieve their goals.

The old guard regardless of clan have failed and the solution is for a new generation to stand up and be accountable.

We inherited this mess it’s not our creation, but we have to live with it and try to clean it up. It is time to stop the blame game and look for solutions.

My main thinking now is how to connect the Diaspora to the old country without using pity and "support" alone and moving from mere donations to real viable investement. A way must be found to connect the selfish side of the talented individuals in the Diaspora to Somalia. If one believes he will gain a benefit monetary or otherwise one will go back and invest time and effort. The saints don’t need persuading but they are few amongst us.

Also a non violent means of attaining our goals must be sought and ways to diminish the clan paranoia between our communities have to be put in place.

The task is difficult but it is feasible and timely.

Start with what you can do for your villages, your towns your communities, then your regions and start with the people, the children and the weak. We need to get of our addiction to foreign NGO’s it’s a hell of a drug that has made us lazy and pitiful.

I must have been on a different SOL than you. Because,as far as i can tell[and i have data to proof this),you have never been for unity. You are the most divisive personality in SOL.

Like i have said,it is a positive thing that you are actually advocating for rethinking. And i,i will support you on that.

Farah-Brown: Adeer you must not know what unity means as for “divisive” of course supporting Puntland to a Kenyan Somali with neo-clan issues is a problem. Thus its your hate for Puntland that gives you narrow and selective reading of the Duke’s position.

Again I am answerable to god but not to any man least of all one who has very weak understanding of the Somali complex issues.

What we need is idea, so what is yours, twice you commented and twice you dressed up your paranoia.

Of course you need time to think, so take your time.

18 years rethink did not work and Egaal & Tuur have long gone and there is no recognition. Thus it’s a new generation needs to rethink for this reality.

Duke,When was the last time you left Somalia?(I know you left somalia in the 80s,but tell the rest of the people).

Look, Stope being defensive. I am giving you credit here. You are correct,Somalis need to rethink. And all i and most everyone in here said was: You are some 10yrs plus late.

Farax adeer you have sufficient time to contribute to the thread so do so.

As for me I left Somalia as a child in 1987 and have resided in the west ever since. In exile as I never had the choice to leave , and insha Allah will return in the coming years. I plan for it every day.

Left Somalia in 80s mhmm and here you are preaching people about the "complexity" of the somali issue?

Anyway,Duke,Like i have said, you do have valid points and i agree with you that,Somalis need to rethink and hit the reset button. Mine was to remind you that most ppl did indeed realize that. Lets move beyond it. You got defensive,i was accusotarial. smile.gif

My suggestion: I would like for you to first of all to start rethinking your position. Look deep into your pysche and see beyond your lovely enclave that is Puntland.
