The Somali scripts

In the past our ancestors used the arabic script the way the brits,dutch,french used the latin script

 

Unlike the UK and France or Holland Somalia devised two indiginous writting systems

 

THE SOMALI OSMANIYA SCRIPT

 

 

 

and

 

THE SOMALI BORAMA SCRIPT

 

 

i think we need to re-instate these scripts and still use the latin script

I think the Latin alphabet should be thrown out and just use one of these. The Latin alphabet does not do justice for Somali as it makes it look quite out of place, to many vowels and use of uncommon letters like 'x'

Good news brothers and sisters.

 

I am on the job and making a font for the script. Insha'Allah, you will soon have the script that your language deserves. After the font is completed, I will work on the input method (The keyboard in other words).

 

This script will easily and quickly fix the literacy issue we have at the moment.

 

The question now is; Will you help in reviving our script?

Nobody will revive this script, typicall Somalis, working on a script while we don't have a goverment.
