baala xoofto Posted June 30, 2022 King's African Rifles - the Nigerian Brigade arrived and tookover power from the Italian fascists without any opposition from either the Italian colonial administration or their local colonised people. In fact, history say that the local colonised people were in celebration mood as the Italian apartheid colonial regime came to an end. For many locals, it was the very first time they strolled down the Liido (Beach in Italian) beach. or even entered into a restaurant and tasted their very first Speghetti. About 1 year after the take over Mogadishu, the Italians were very concerned that all their ilgotten colonial economy was about to be dismantled by the British Administration and returned back to the Somali locals, including giving the local sovereignty from Italy. The Italians organised themselves to stave off these plans and carried out a number of anti-British Demonstration and protests. In one instance, a lady called Xaawo Taako was killed. This lady who was participating in Pro-Italian protests would later feature in Somalia's Shillings as a national Hero. Crazy!

She was a member. It's possible MMA's old man knew of her, but let him inform us.

If you are talking about the Act of Union of 1960, the official name of the new Republic was to become "The Somali Republic". But as with so many other things that was raped, murdered and then buried, the name Somalia became the published name. The last rites of the "Union" was read over the Union after the 1969 Coupe when the Constitution of 1960 was shelved into the garbage. From 1969, legally, there was no Union between Somaliland and Somalia.
Xaaji Xunjuf Posted July 1, 2022 Maakhir it was never called Somalia The official name was the Somali republic even afweyne as walanweyn he was he referred his country as the Somali democratic republic.  Sdr.  Nothing democratic about it but that’s what he did labbada magac ba wala tuuray Beriga somaliland and Somalia. galbeedi Posted July 1, 2022 It is not the first time little secessionist lie. In fact, every transcript about Somali history especially the British history of Somaliland including the demography of tribes and other issues were forgeries posted in the internet. In 1941, there was no Somali movement or protest. The second world war wasn't even over. SYL was formed 1943, and the skirmishes with Italians like the " Dhagaxtuur" and Xaawa Taako didn't take place until later. Furthermore, these were not African troops per se, they were colonial troops from all over the world dying to defend the British empire. They were not serving Africa or Somalia.Among them were the Somaliland Camel Corps who had Sawahili , Indians and Somalis who fought against the great Darwiish early in the twentieth century. Also, many Somalis had died between Jigjiga and Berbera during the war between the British and the Italians. This was another misleading headline. Why not mention the African troops brought to the Somali shores in 1919 to kill the Somali independent movement were your grand fathers were among them. Give me a break.

Are you just pulling our leg ? The great Darwiish is now just a camel thief? Why would the Brits ship airplanes to Aden, Yemen a year before the bombing, then assemble them and bomb Talex castle in 1920? Why the would they bring Indians, Sawahili Africans and Somalis to storm his bases? I thought the Landers had changed their attitude toward the Darwiish lately to attract the Garaad community to the project and even claim to be one of the heroes of Somaliland. Even Ina Biixi joined that project.

Haji The Habro tribes did not have lot of camels to steal. They had goats, and was very poor except some Wadani tribes. The Darwiish was part of bigger war beyond Somalia. There are things that cannot be dispute. The thirteen crusader wars.

Xaaji Xunjuf Posted July 3, 2022 Nonsense and historic revionism we know for certain the duriyad clans were the most wealthy in terms of camels even the so called dervishes were started with five thousands camels owned by sultan nur the dervish sultan  from the main Burco clan    The dervishes stole the Dayaxweerar camels owned by the hargeisa community so many more.  Luckily we got our revenge on the mad mulla and his bandits when we took the biggest raid in history at the hagoogane raid.
