The beating of my heart

Is similar to a drum

Not just any drum

But a drum fiercely spanked by a warrior on earth

Not just any warrior

But a warrior from my motherland

 

Yes that’s my heart

Its might quakes the earth underneath

Fertile soils churn to the beat

In search of nutrients they surround my feet

Swallow me whole

And take me to paradise

 

Yes that’s my word

For when the beating stops

I cease to be

Thus I cheer it on

And for old age I beg

Keep me away from the dead…………Keep me away from the dead
