Simple but Complex

My ode is simple but complex,

it may cause for you to recollect,

Reflect, and deep thought is what I leave you with.

For my ode is a thing untold in books,

and a simple fact Overlooked,

to the extent that people actually believe they are free.

Though truly free you are not,

around your neck there is a leash.

And around your arms and feet

a chain you’ve got.

For my ode is that freedom is oppression

Freedom is a thing where your mind is in bliss

But you’re body is in depression

Why should I remind thee of this?

Can’t you see you are not free,

you are bound

Always bound by the thought of being free.

No man can free, no man can hold you in his grasp

For God is the one

who can free your soul from your body,

Free yourself, from yourself

Show you that you are a free body

And that you are your own self

 

 

That is truly freedom.
