A man who cultivated his Shaytaani nafs came to me and said,

'O son of Adam, I'll not rest until I lead you to my fate!'

 

I replied:

'O al-Waswaas al-Khanaas;

 

seek me in doubt...

 

and you'll find me in faith

 

seek me in anger...

 

and you'll find me in balance

 

seek me in fear...

 

and you'll find me in serene

 

seek me in sadness...

 

and you'll find me in bliss

 

seek me in dispair

 

you'll find me in hope

 

seek me in war...

 

and you'll find me in peace

 

seek me in hell...

 

and you'll find me in paradise

 

InshaAllahu Ta'aalaa
