BOB Posted May 14, 2005 DeadlyVision, Nice 1 My Brother... The land of my forefathers is bleeding from the deep wounds on her pretty flesh her forced entry shaped what became of my future it calls me with a voice filled with deep sorrow i can hear her cries begging me to follow the furore of her desire gave many men a heat it whispers into my innocent ears in the land of the broken mirrors there are two types of eyes one that can see beyond the flesh another blinded by the hatred lights where the ugly becomes divine with a heart filled with pride i choose to stick to what is mine with a heart too big for this vessel i choose to stick to my kind for my kind paid a high price of taking two steps away from Allah my kind murder each other for pride my kind cut the flesh of their own kind my kind chose to feed from the devil's plate my kind refuse to live closer to heaven the dead eyes of guilty men are blinded by the tears of history to love one another is the joy of heaven to deceive one another is the laughter of hell dear almighty give us a new pair of eyes to see the depth of my people's sin a healthy mind to end the pain the person I dreamed to be is the man I finally became today make my people hear my pleas so I can save them from the fires of Hell. Peace,Love & Unity.

NomadicQueen Posted November 2, 2005 pride is good...but so is disgust. I find that seeing how ugly something can be while still loving itis a real test of true love. Im sure you all have levels of disgust with Somalia and its people. Yet you write about its beauty in a time in history where you need a bull dozer to dig it out of the steaming sewage that is the war. So your optimism is greatly admired...i could use a spoonful myself. Hopefully your poem will rehabilatate me and cure my chronic indifference.
