the overwhelming majority of the gunmen in Somalia are said to be kids roughly between the ages of 14-19.they kill, rob and rape and I believe it's easy to see why as all you need to do is to take a look at the horror that our kids are exposed to today and then maybe you might understand why we have so many murderers... whose to blame? that's for you to decide.

 

 

I came into this cold & cruel world with my innocence

where greed dictates people's conscience

poor people left alone to face the consequence

they handed me an automatic machine gun

they said it will make me become a man

today I am a cold-blooded & heartless killer

i trust no one but my faithful nine mille-meter

i am very much part of the terrorizing mob

all we do is loot anything & everything and rob

they gave me a cheap and free dope

they said it will keep me going and give me hope

i was only a child and I couldn't say nope

they denied me the opportunity have a childhood

today I am the most hated resident in my neighbourhood

no one bothers to ask me if I am hungry and need a food

i am desperate for a chance to change and come good

I need some one to love me and make me feel good

all I ever wanted is to grow up and make it

they offered me one chance and I had to take it

today I am a lost soul and illiterate

dreaming to someday become an articulate

all I hear is people saying it's not too late

deep down inside I know I am far from immaculate

today I am still a child but all alone and homeless

go ahead and start calling me devil and hopeless

because all I ever knew is heartache and loneliness

i am the product of a broken home & failed marriage

i never wanted to constantly be on the rampage

i am sorry for all the pain I caused and the damage

no one is genetically programmed to become a savage

i acknowledge my mistakes and I should be held accountable

for all the things I have done even if they are all insurmountable

it's easy for you to point a finger and say I am irresponsible

in truth, we (Somalis) all are which is why we constantly fail to reconcile

simply because we as a nation are all imbecile

before you judge me just remember that I haven't been as lucky as you are

that's why I kill so I can live.
