Diamante Posted February 27, 2005 Tonight my passions lie buried beneath the snow Like the grass under its blanket, too tired to grow The same grass that was beautiful, not long ago Once again it will rest in the cold white winter’s glow The coldness of the winter has its own beauty though All the living things will rest in the white winter’s snow As sure as my passions rest in reason, I just know That the seasons of my life will surely come and go For in the fall, my summer’s passions have started to mold But like the earth, I am purified by the winter’s cold So that new life, can grow within me, in my spring so bold And seasons run their cycle in my life, as I grow old I guess it is true, winter has its sting But each winter is followed by a spring Each spring offers, new life and new hope, to everything Winter is to the spring as the night is to the morning In the winter of my life when I take my last breath The time when the earth reclaims my life, and limbs in death I will leave my passions buried deep I pray to the Lord my soul to keep
