BOB Posted February 21, 2005 This is dedicated to my hometown Kismayo. If home is where your heart at then mine is at the city that I was destined to put its name on the map i know if my city read this it would give me a clap this native son is still true to his roots & home town give my unconditional love to my Calanley neighbourhood where I was born to two noble yet humble people who raised me with so little yet with so much love the city that has a deep-rooted love for it's citizens the city that had everything one could want going for it from the beautiful beaches with white sands to beautiful girls that are far from a soul wreckers they are known to be a loyal and a true home makers the city where everyone gives you nothing but love the city where being a cosmopolitan comes to you naturally the city that's blessed with so much natural beauty life was nothing but fun with plenty of laughter playing football in every open space available going to the market to get a free watermelon to quench the thirst fridays were our day where we would rise before the sun so we could be at the beach and have nothing but fun girls watching while sucking on an ice cream to see who could play better so they could do the sum my home town is where football greats came from those who are known to every one all across the country my home town is where the most civilized used to reside people who had a genuine respect and appetite for life people who helped raise this boy into the man he became today too bad so many of them died or left home with a broken heart. BOB Posted February 21, 2005 give my love to Shaqalaha, Fanole and Farjanne give my heart felt love for my old school Bilal Primary where they gave me a chance to combat illiteracy I may not be able to recall everything about my home town but my love will always be with the city that is my home it tears me apart to see my home town being destroyed for every one with a toy to take a aim at my city for every bomb dropped and for every bullet fired for every hand grenade set off and for every mine planted it brings tears to my eyes for the fact that I am silent i am silent while my home town is getting raped & abused i can't heal my home town with my plain & empty words i can't ease my home town's pain with my distant love we left our beloved hometown in the hands of the vultures we fled our Kismayo and went to a far and foreign lands we can't even turn and look back because it hurts we can't bear looking at our city in this condition fearing that the emotions will overwhelm us we may live in a distant and foreign houses but Kismayo will always be our God given homes someday i will go back to fight for what's mine tell my home town to keep its grace and shine don't you ever let no one take your pretty smile. Kismayo, thanks for the memory & the love baby. I Love Kismayo. Peace, Love & Unity.
