Would the invasion of Ukraine be the beginning of the end of president Putin’s rule in Russia ?

Since the beginning of the 12th century up to the early years of the 20th century ( 1917 ) Ukraine with its recent borders has been ruled by different countries such as Poland, Russia, Austria, Lithuania and even the Crimea Khanate who are originally Tatars.( Wikipedia). The Ukrainian People’s Republic emerged From 1917 – 1921. But was defeated by the Bolshevik Red Army and joined the Soviet Union in December, 1922. Ukraine became independent again in 1991 When the Soviet Union was dissolved and took a multiparty system of democracy. The political parties were divided into pro Europe and pro Russia and the political situation got exacerbated and confrontational when the pro Russia Prime minister Viktor F. Yanukovych was ousted in the 2014 Revolution of Dignity. Which led to the war in the Donbas region by the Russian backed separatist forces, and to the annexation of Crimea by Russia.

Though the invasion of Russia to Ukraine is unacceptable and horrific but Putin did what is the norm in the western countries where they regularly conspire, plot, invade and topple the leaders of any third world country that doesn’t serve their interest. Did you forget ”the Monroe Doctrine”. James Monroe was the fifth American president from 1817-1825 ( Wikipedia ). And is one of the Five Founding Fathers of USA. The Monroe Doctrine was a United States foreign policy position. It held that any intervention in the political affairs of the Americas ( the western hemisphere ) by foreign powers was a potentially hostile act against the U.S.( Wikipedia ) and a practical application of this Doctrine is the Cuban missile Crisis in 1962 where John F. Kennedy threatened, if Russia doesn’t stop delivering the ballistic missiles into Cuba, American military would bomb the Russian ships ( That could have triggered the Third World War ) that were sailing to deliver the missiles to Cuba, and to the good fortune of the world the lunatic Russian president Nikita Khrushchev turned wiser than John F. Kennedy and ordered the Russian ships to turn back to Russia. What a bout conspiring and plotting of the CIA and Henry Kissinger in toppling the democratically elected president of Chile, Salvador Allende and installing a military dictator ” general Pinochet” who massacred thousands of his people, meanwhile the CIA and Belgium plotted and intervened in toppling, the first prime minister of Democratic Republic of Congo Patrice Lumumba and took him a live, killed him and burned his body . What about the invasion of Iraq, Afghanistan and the bombing of Libya ETC. where hundreds of thousands were wounded or killed and millions of their people were forced to flee for their lives and turned into refugees in their neighbouring countries and around the world.

Conclusion : The invasion of Ukraine is deplorable and horrific and it would turn into a bloody lengthy war where the Ukrainian resistance army would divide into small groups and fight a guerrilla warfare which would cause a lot of losses, low moral and desertion among the Russian occupiers. It seems history repeats itself, president Putin bogged himself into a trap where the West wanted, the same scenario of Saddam Hussein of Iraq when he invaded Kuwait. He never came out of Kuwait as the same strong man of Iraq and his days in power were numbered.
