Ms DD Posted January 12, 2007 Salaam I cant figure out men. I am sure they are not complex but they sure as hell drive women crazy. By the way..This isnt about me as I am happily married lady lol. In my years of couselling my girlfriends, why is it that when men messes them about, they still hang around. I was a single ones, and i seem to recall how finding the right man wasnt so hard. In this situation, the man said: 1- I cant committ to you, but i wanna hang around you as friends. If you want to offer me more (haraam i know), i am happy to take it. But i know i will change and will want to marry you. 2- He then comes back saying, i cant get you out my mind. Lets hang. Oh by the way, I have my rich, beautiful english ex-fiancee at my house since her university is closer to my house. She is just preparing her thesis for her PHD and i dont want to ruin it for her. But I promise she will leave the minute she finishes. By the by, we are not together. I sleep at the sofa. 3- He comes back again saying " i do love you" but I need to change and be perfect for you before we start a relationship. He also says "I have changed so much since i got to know you, I dont talk to woman anymore blah blah but i still have my ex living my house" Anyhow, being the good friend that i am, i told her that this guy is messing you about. Ka tasho. She says, "i really cant stay away, he will change, i believe him cos he didnt need to so honest with in the begining and he was. Therefore i give him credit." From the piont of veiw of men, could you guys tell me whether he is messing her about cos i sure as hell think so. It is easy for me to say she keeps reminding me! At least i told her to stop being so modern and let him pay for the dinner and the parking, and the movie instead of paying half. Pujah Posted January 12, 2007 When you’re outside looking in, it’s crystal clear to you when something looks fishy. However, it is totally different case when you are in the situation. Sometimes when you have your rosy glasses on you can see things that aren’t there… hence, all the excuses. I have heard too many of them to really care but some of the ones I hear too often are “he didn’t mean it” or “he said he will change and I just need to give him time” blah blah blah. Having said that, I think everyone has a boiling point that when reached there is no returning, so maybe your friend hasn’t reached there yet. And that is where you come in; it’s your job to show her all the holes in her picture perfect relationship. But how the heck you do that without alienating your friend? One of my friend, she is really beautiful, great personality, educated etc etc…if I was a man she wouldn’t be single. But she has this abusive boyfriend, it used to be emotional abuse and as if that wasn’t enough he hit her, the other nite. She was hysterical, crying and saying I am done with him, this is the lowest etc. I felt like taking the next flight out to beat the crap out of that guy but than I was happy that she finally saw the light and is free from his abuse. Suffice to say my excitement was short lived as she went back to him the very next day. Her excuse, it was her who started the fighting but he apologized and it will never happen again.
