Borama (PP News Desk) — The health authority of the city of Borama has launched mobile vaccination facilities to provide residents with an opportunity to be vaccinated against Covid-19.

Through Vaccinaid, UNICEF provided vaccines to prevent the pandemic from overwhelming the city. The mobile vaccination services will be rolled out throughout Somalia in conjunction with local health authorities.

Public health experts said that this type of accessible service substantially reduces health inequalities in Somalia, where extremely underfunded public health services continue to put lives of citizens at risk.

“We are thankful to UNICEF for introducing this service and boosting the capacity of our health service. ” said a health worker in Borama.

The Covid-19 vaccine uptake is reportedly higher in Borama, thanks to the mobile vaccination centres that increase accessibility of the service.
