Paragon Posted June 7, 2002 A rule of engagement is a topic intended to improve the way many poets and rappers/lyricists communicate with the masses. Most of us have tried before to decorate our messages with words that entangle the meaning which the message is intended to convey. It is always a good idea to simplify your message to enable each and every one of your listeners/fans understands you point precisely. If you study very carefully, you will notice most of the best rappers dead or alive who made it big, you will see how simplified their lyrics were. Don't try to impress your peer with the command of English you have, but look at things in a global way. For-example, if the fan who is buying your albums understand only 2 or 3 words out of each sentence your lyrics consist of, then you haven't achieved anything. You only brought forward beats with auditable words, that is it. Those who simplify their sentences without using bombastic words might sell more than those who boast with difficult to understand words. Simplify is the word.... ya heard?
