Lois Lane Posted March 7, 2005 I never thought he was lyrically gifted...guess i was right Instead of being on Nas's back he should've worked on his lyrics. What more can i say it was about time he retired...theres just so far good beats can take you
J.Lee Posted March 7, 2005 First of all, the whole 6 minutes and so just consisted of various two to three bars that were some what altered that orignilly belonged to other rappers , this is called sampling which is a thing that every rapper does and isn't unique only to Jay-Z. To bite means claiming something as your own when it is not and there are federal laws against such it's called Intellectual Property rights. so he is not a biter but a sampler. N.O.R.F Posted March 8, 2005 ^^^hes not sampling, he biting. Sampling means using ones music or part there of, ie as the chorus/hook, but biting is when you are actually saying/using another paerson's lyrics in your song. I never thought he was lyrically gifted...guess i was right The days of lyrically gifted MCs are over
Conspiracy Posted March 8, 2005 You guys need to give Jay-z a break , i understand most people are fans of Nas including myself, but that doesn't mean we should go around underestimating Mc's like Jay-z. First of all Jay-z is a well known ghost-writer that means he writers most of the hits you heard by artists like Dr-dre etc and he is currently helping Cory-Gunz (Peter Gunz's son) with his album. Bro mobbdeep regrading those randoum verses you heard Jay-z replied to them in the BLACK ALBUM , song( What More Can I Say ) in first verse he explains it. I'm not a biter I'm a writer for myself and others I say a B.I.G. verse, I'm only biggin up my brother Biggin up my borough, I'm big enough to do it I'm that thorough, plus I know my own flow is foolish So them rings and things you sing about, bring 'em out It's hard to yell when the bar-rell's in your mouth I'm in - new sneakers, dual-seaters Few divas, what more can I tell you? enuff said!
