Daesh Assassinates District Commissioner in Puntland

ISIS had executed Mumin in Ballidhidin after Puntland security forces vacated the district.

Bosaso (PP News Desk) — Militias loyal to the proscribed group Islamic State in Somalia had launched a surprise attack on Ballidhidin, a district in Bari, and killed Mohamed Ahmed Muumin, the District Commissioner tonight.

Puntland forces have reportedly vacated the district, making it vulnerable to attacks by ISIS militias secretly operating in parts of the region.

Upon entering the district ISIS militias located Mumin and “executed him”, a resident in Ballidhidin said. Bari regional authorities were not available to comment.
