Historians say that before Hitler invaded Russia he should have read a book by the name of 'peace and war', narrating the conquest of Napoleon in Russia. Napoleon captured Moscow, but eventually was defeated due to the harsh Russian winter. The same thing happened to Hitler. The Americans who only read sport pages and the garbage Necons throw around, just found out after twenty years why this so called savages can not be subdued. Those who have faith can't be colonised that much long. Mr. Aroori, You were probably born in the ages of Google, but there was another savage in our part of the world . In 1901, in the height of the British empire , the great Darwiish said, ' Dalka ma lihid anigaa ku idhi doroolahaye' . I hope you know the meaning or 'Dooro'. THere is a reason why Afghanistan is called the grave yard of empires . The British empire in its hey days couldn't occupy long enough, and that was nineteenth century. With the help of Americans, the Afghan Mujahideen, in the eighties, defeated the Soviet union. Rather than help the Muslims who despised communism and strengthen an alliance with like minded states like Pakistan, America , led by small minded neoconservatives, decided to make Islam the new target to replace communism. They sanctioned Pakistan and left Afghanistan for warring factions. Thus the adventure started in the nineties. People that America bankrolled in Afghanistan like Usama Bin Laden became public enemy number one. A campaign to denigrate and smear anything about Islam had taken centre stage in the media. They forgot that Islam is stretched from Morocco to Indonesia; from Siberia to Southern Africa; from heart of Europe to northern China. These nations were looking up to America, but the Necons decided to destroy them one by one. When the Americans show up at the UN Security Council blazing their guns for another war, ,the Chinese usually abstain from the vote and tell uncle Sam, ' go ahead, make your day'. Those Chinese, who were a communist backwater in 1990, amassed the largest economic growth in history while America was marauding the Arabian desert to find monsters. In 1990 their GDP were 394 billion and PPP (purchasing power parity) of just over a trillion. Today they reached 15 trillion GDP and 28 trillion PPP. America still has an opportunity to stop the Chines. THey can ally themselves with the nations that are the most strategic in terms of location. Most of the world trade travels in Muslim lands. The Suez Canal (Egypt), Hormuz, the Persian gulf, Bab al Man dab, Somalia/Yemen, the Malacca Straight ( Indonesia and Malaysia). I hope Mr. Biden is listening. Things may have changed in last 20 years, surprised Northern Afghanistan is also pro Taliban now, NorthEast was only place they could not capture back in 1990s because of Ahmed Shah Masood. The Northern guys were expecting to get to power or alternate the Bashtunes, but for 20 years, all they saw is Hamid Karzai and the current one alternate. Their top leader Cabdalla, disputed the last two elections, and was given only as number two. They are probably bitter. After all the fighting they did against the Taliban, they were never good enough to lead.It is the nature of things, you please the trouble makers. Somalis need a new culture and a better way of life. A functioning state would come but not before cleaning up the mess called Somali culture.
