Laba-X Posted January 15, 2008 I need help, particularly from the Somali Londoners... Does anyone know about any Somali Cultural centres where people can attend to learn about the Somali Culture or history? Any shops that sell Somali Arts and Crafts? Any activities that portray the beautiful Hiddaha iyo Dhaqanka Soomaliyeed? Anything on Somali Culture would be really helpful... Waad Mahadsantihiin Dhamaan! Blessed Posted January 15, 2008 I can only think of, Oxford House, Bethnal Green and maybe SOAS for Somali history and language classes.

Ibtisam Posted January 15, 2008 Oxford house is a good starting place. For outdated dusty books with valuable information, SOAS library is a good start. Not sure about lanuage classes. London Black Women had some stuff on dress/ clothes and women ages ago. Good luck.
Paragon Posted January 15, 2008 Go to Gamas Shop in Heston (near Hounslow West - Thorncliff Hotel) for all your Somali crafts, arts and photographs. PS: Unrelated but I bought nice Macsaro from that shop once. Was delicious .
