'Husband-hunting' bra a right hit

Triumph is keeping abreast of Japan's singles market by making a specially-designed bra for women whose biological clocks are ticking.

The "husband-hunting" bra has been manufactured by the international lingerie firm amid Japan's falling marriage rate and with the age of the average bride now 28 or over.

Triumph publicist Keiko Masuda said of the bra, which features a self-set counter: "First you decide your target time or deadline until marriage and the countdown clock will start.

"Once you find your life partner and get engaged, you have to insert the engagement ring into the slot and the clock stops and The Wedding March begins."

She added: "Japanese women are becoming more aggressive than men, working actively to make marriage happen, whereas in the past it was men who led women towards marriage. The roles have switched completely."

Japanese government statistics show nearly 57 per cent of women under 34 are unmarried and strategic marriage-hunting enterprises have blossomed.

Some 3,800 firms have Japanese match-making businesses, making a market for a beau-targeting bra a no-brainer. Once the wedding deal is done, though, the bra includes a holder for the family seal and a pen to sign a pre- or post-nuptial agreement.

They're not kidding huh? And who on earth wants a darn clock to tick all day long to remind you to get a man? Wallee, the japanese are in their own little world. And it doesnt even stop at ticking, it will follow you to your wedding untill the signing of the "pre or post-nuptial agreement" kulahaa?

This... bra... sounds incredibly stup!d. Once you get the timer going some women will actually feel that they have to get married before it runs out , and then realise afterwards that they probably ******* hate the guy they're with.

There is already built-in clock that is ticking and tocking anyway..and this is heard loud and clear (mostly in the form of aunty screaming in the middle of gathering..""why couldnt you find a husband to dust the cobweb that has gathered in ur persons).

Who needs a reminder and countdown then?

Must it be a marriage anyway? Sometimes i just wonder, if they are not religious, what is the need of a marriage when co-habiting will do just fine?
