To all Londoners, what other problems other than transportation and lack of understanding between your men and women that you would like to share with the rest of us? Of course, many of us on the other side of the world would like to learn from you how you continue to handle this and other problems.

Please note that no place is perfect, but I would love to know about the other problems such as the problems of plumbing (hot & cold water coming from different vaucets) and heating (honey, do you've a change to feed the meter!)

ps. NGONGE (and Londoners) I'm not trying to change the topic, but if you need to take a jab at me just try not to throw a hook and combinations to finish me off! :D

Yeah, sure. You don't mind springing for the plane ticket, do you? :D It's only about probably $300 one way....

I want to go to England some day with my mum, she was born there, so she would love to go back. Maybe I'll see some of you guys insha Allah.

I just got in. Five to ten. :D

Roobleh your request has been noted and you shall soon be obliged. ;)

ps

How many North Americans use this site anyway? I only see about five or six of the creatures. It's those convicts that are giving us a run for our money.

^And I remember a time when we used to wonder if there were any Somalis down under!

I got in at 9:30 smile.gif . But then, I never went home last night and didn't have to suffer those insufferable trains!

Well, now that the strike has been suspended, those Metronet peeps must have gotten what they wanted.

Commuting truly sucks. A big bloke stepped on my foot this morning and I'm now limping. I'm so envious of people who can walk to work.

Ghanima, I noticed a curious thing about people who WfH. They send a couple of emails in the morning, usually between 9.25-9.37am, then you don't hear from them until around 2pmish and finally you receive a call or a final email around 4.30pm. Heh, talk about trying too hard to prove you are working. We KNOW you are not for the most part!

Londoners, please answer me this - why do we live in this ridiculously expensive, ridiculously polluted, ridiculously poor connected and with the most ridiculous weather I've seen of a city? Especially since we're all educated and capable of getting work anywhere? Whats your excuse people??

I'm getting out of here soon. Hold me onto that. Give me a year and some.

Serenity, I have often asked myself that same question...I love this city despite its difficulties but surely in a few years I'm going...it's only that it's home and that’s difficult to resist.

Yes D&D, I agree, I miss it too when I'm away.

Maybe move out to somewhere like Oxford or Herts which is still close enough to London but a million miles away at the same time.
