For the first time, Pland will be holding municipal elections. The question is who can vote or run? Only native clans or all residents?

Puntland elections will set the tone for the rest of the country. It will be crucial to the rights of every Somali citizen. It can usher true federalism or entrench clan politics.

I think peope only from that region can vote. What's the point of pl local elecions. If reer baydhabo and reer Mogadishu are voting.

Puntland is not separate country. Every citizen is entitled to vote. Any resident regardless of their geographical origin should able to vote and run for offices.

All permanent residents will vote regardless of clan affiliation. The registrations are taking place in IDP camps too.

This would be real progress if all residents in Bosasso could vote. It would be a spark of progress and potential game changer.

Give credit to C/laahi Dani for holding elections in Puntland. Despite all the accusations and the smear campaign waged from all of us, this man seems to be over confident and eloquent as usual. 

It seems this Dani guy will be going places in the future.

Major cities like Boosaaso should have wards or neighborhood boundaries to elect counselors, other wise you end up Somaliland style elections where one votes for his clan regardless of where he resides..

Wait for him to start gerrymandering like Faroole, and the whole thing FAIL, and go back to OLD current system.
