N.O.R.F Posted January 26, 2006 A recnt trip to visit the oldest mosque in Oman. Oman accepted ISlam very early on and without a war. Hope some of our resident 'Omanis' can expand on this. The entrance to the mosque reads something like this: Masjidal Madhmaar, assasal haadhal masjidal daxaalbiyee akableel Maazan bin cadhuub (radhyallahu canhu) Fi –alsana alsaalisal hijra Watum huwana allahu towfiitu tajrii binaanu hutha caan faqat Xadhrat xaaxibal jilaalna alsuldaan Qaboos bin saceed Suldhaan caaman xaafadham allah racaa-u Wazalan fi 15 shacbaan 1499 wal mow-afi yowli-u 1979 Inside the now refurbished mosque

Interesting sight i tell ya! ^^This was crazy. I was watching documentary about this snow dome a month ago.....the construction and the cost were enormous. And the energy needed to keep the place cold  . Even worst all the people building and making money were white european managers and Indian laborers...where were the Arabs?...ridiculous but priceless I guess.
