How Often do you used these words in your every day somaali, when you are among friends or family. Halis Haraad Hubaal Hami Dhabanaha Dubnaha Fiid Habsaamid Haleelis there are many more, but i can't seem to remember them right now, if any one else has more to offer please do so.But i for one do know all these words and their meaning, but never ever use them in my every day somaali. You see may be that's one of the reasons why our language is becoming impotent and fragile,you see i look at it this way,if i become a parent which i will soon (insha alaah) and my somaali today is as limited as a 7year old living in Burco, how on earth will i be capable of teaching my offspring their mother-tongue. insha allaah i'll wait for your takes.... asxantu Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Dubnaha = lips/bushimaha (we also use dubin) Fiid = right after sunset/habeenka intuunan gudcur noqon (fiidka) Habsaamid = soo daahid/being late or being lost (wan habsaamay or wa habsaamtay) Haleelis = helid/raadis/to find or to look (wan heelay or ma heeshay...is that the same?)
