Caano; Not all Pharoahs were blacks. There is no known archeological evidence or otherwise to suggest that all pharoahs were blacks. Most archeologist have said that non blacks may have ruled[Turks.greeks] However,i dont trust most of the early archeologists, they prolly were indenial of the fact that a Black Man could rule for so long. Some even dont beleive that the Pyramids were built by the Egyptians without the assistance of ETs
Muhammad Posted December 9, 2005 not turks, turks left central asia recently. other non-black groups that they came into contact include asiatics/semites, hittites, libyans. greeks(later)...
Jawaazay Posted December 9, 2005 Where do Somalis fit in this, if they do?
Muhammad Posted December 9, 2005 well the ancient egyptians refered to the area which includes Somalia as Punt or Ta Neteru, the land of the gods. In one of the legends, they believed that is where they originated. some pharoahs sent expeditions to punt, the most famous being that of queen hatshepsut. there must also have been some links, mainly trade, between nubia and the lands of punt. so the land which the somalis occupy does have some links with ancient egypt. but as for Somalis(todays), I don't know. perhaps someone else can shed a light on it. Somalis back then, as they are today, were groupies for whomever was in charge. If you look at history, we've been groupies for the Arabs, the European colonialists, the Soviets, etc. Today, we're groupies for the Ethiopians. Using that, one can argue that we were, perhaps, once groupies for the pharoahs. Land of Punt, anyone...?
xiinfaniin Posted December 9, 2005 ^^^No wonder, then, some people believe pharaoh, or ( Ùرعون ) in Arabic, is nothing but the corrupted version of the Somali name fir-coon ; combination of fir (descendant) and coon (the short ). I like it .
