Deeq A. Posted March 28, 2021 Puntland forces protesting unpaid salaries have set up new roadblocks on the road between Galkayo and Garowe, banning Puntland officials from using the street. The checkpoints affected Puntland officials who were planning to train troops in Harfo district in Mudug region. The soldiers’ protest comes at a time when Puntland’s president has recently announced a pay rise. The protesters did not block public transport on the road, despite fears. In mutiny are not new to the public and was common during Abdiweli Gaas’ presidency in Puntland. Although President Deni said he has increased wages, the army’s grievances are not over, and it now stands in the Gardafu, where troops and officials complained of lack of rights.
