Dhagax-Tuur Posted March 27, 2021 Apparently, the parliament is convening or considering this matter. I say, why not? If there's a stalemate in getting the elections to be held, for the sake of continuity (not for the current admin's sake) and avoiding power vacuum which can potentially be destructive, I say maintain the status quo. Let's all hope that a year or so is enough for the self surving Somali political elite to come up with a solution. Till then, an extension doesn't sound the end of the world as paint it to be. galbeedi Posted March 28, 2021 The Somali federal parliament have an obligation to preform its duty to find just solutions to the current problems. They have more right and responsibility than the man controlling the city of Kismaayo. Whose voice is more important? that of Ahmed Madoobe and Dani or the collective voice of the parliament ? These are 275 men and women who are selected to represent every village and town i Somalia. Despite those who try to disrupt the business of parliament, the vote of the majority will prevail by law. They must extend the term of the government and move the country forward. No body can overrule the will of the Somali parliament. Neither the international community, nor the Un representative could overturn the vote of the parliament. IN fact the threat of extension will force to backdown those who are trying block the election it self.

galbeedi Posted March 28, 2021 The Somali parliament made mistakes by delegating its power to make the law of the election to regional states. Does anyone have a say when Puntland or other regions hold their election? No. The parliament should not be silent and watch one or two guys obstruct the nation for small pity reasons. This is the best time to bring the business of the nations from the hands of Norway, Belgium and Kenya. Waa in Sanad lagu daraa. Mudadaas sanadka ahna lagy xoreeya Al-Shabaab magaala madaxda Jubbada Hoose ee Bu'ale, ciidanka Kenyana dalka ka baxaa ama xuddud Jubbada ciidan Soomaaliyeed tagaa. Dhagax-Tuur Posted March 28, 2021 ^Sometimes one has to take a decision for the greater good. Spoilers made elections almost impossible, in that case, they shouldn't be allowed to hold the country to ransom. The strategy seems 'weaken spoilers' strength & show them that they can't stop will of the majority of parliamentarians '. Way to go.

He needs to resign but if he does not he will be forced to, no doubt about it. He is already sidelined by the five states who seemed to have agreed on conference agenda.
