Govt soldiers torture Shabelle TV staff and confiscate his camera

Soldiers dressed in Gorgor uniforms and wearing red caps tortured Cameraman Mahad Tawakal of Shabelle TV based in Mogadishu on Thursday night.

The incident took place in front of the Network’s headquarters, where soldiers confiscated a Canon 5D Mark IV camera, two Wireless microphones, and a Samsung phone.

The perpetrators also fled on a Tuk-Tuk, heading towards the KM4 junction.

The attack appears to have been targeted and took place as Mahad Tawakal was returning from an assignment.
