Mogadishu (PP News Desk) — Garaad Abdi Hersi Ugaas, a traditional leader of Murursade, has distanced himself from remarks made by Mohammed Hassan Haad, a paramount chief of the clan, about the Somalia’s President.

Garaad Abdi said that Haad had acted disrespectfully when he threatened to storm Villa Somalia “to evict Pesident Mohammed Abdullahi Mohammed”.

“Haad does not represent us. I advise him not to stoop so low again as to speak disparagingly about our President “ Garaad Abdi added.

Earlier today a group of elders from Murursade clan held a press confrence in Mogadishu to commend the Federal Government of Somalia for measured response to rabble-rousers and armed demonstrators at parts of downtown Mogadishu.

“The incumbent President deserves support for his achievements. No one can break into the window of Villa Somalia” said one of the elders.

Demonstrations organised by the Union of Somali Presidential Candidates took place on Friday at the Unknown Soldier’s Monument and KM4 in Mogadishu.

The demonstrations were marred by militias led by Yusuf Mohamud Siad Indha’adde, a former warlord, who claimed that there was no government in Somalia and that he would be in charge of the security at the venue.
