Arab Aid Long-term Investments: The case of Qatar Cooperation Somalia

Recommended Posts

As other Arab brothers, Qatar was always very helpful in many ways, not least by denouncing the Ethiopian Invasion at the UN Council back in 2006 as well as by airing reports of both the Oga-den and Somalia Humanitatian Crisis and Atrocities, described as the World's Worsts (the reason why Ethiopia added it its "Terrorist" list, alongside Norway etc).

With the largest proven World gas reserves, Qatar is expected to grow at unprecedented rates like other Arab states, while taking profit of skyrocketing oil prices (it is allegedly a funder of Eritrea and has been mediating between Djibouti and Asmara, whose soldiers briefly ventured into a tiny stretch of arid land at the northern frontier, before being pushed back).

Through close cooperation, it also assisted both Somalis and Djibouti in so many ways, palnning new projects:

PS: the latest theatrical skirmishes by triggered by Eritran defections to Djibouti (Eritrea is vulnerable from many sides and share the Djiboutian goal of an independent Somalia), could hardly threaten the planned giant projects as it is expected the Djiboutian army will only be more sucessful through build-up inshallah (it was an easy win with around 100 Eritrean prisoners taken, not mentioning defecting officers and an excursion of 8 kms into Eritrean territory)...
