-Serenity- Posted May 15, 2006 Ya'all look so bored... well...same here. So here is something I just read. A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university lecturer. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life. Offering his guests coffee, the lecturer went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups: porcelain, plastic, glass, some plain-looking and some expensive and exquisite, telling them to help themselves to hot coffee. When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the lecturer said "If you noticed, all the nice-looking, expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is but normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the better cups and are eyeing each other's cups. Now, if Life is coffee, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, but the quality of Life doesn't change. Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee in it." So don't let the cups drive you ... enjoy the coffee instead.

So, let me get this straight....My life is nothing but coffee? And my job and money are nothing but cups? And I have been enjoying the cup more than the coffee? So how much cream and sugar is in there? Is it from Tim Hortons? Cuz I love Tim Hortons coffee. They also make a good tuna sandwich. Can my life be that instead of coffee? Cuz I like tuna sandwiches more than coffee, you know....
Animal Farm Posted May 15, 2006 Gotta love the randomness of this topic – coffee is nice if its costs less than a dollar – I hear Starbucks is opening 30k more stores this year. Would you really buy 5 bucks coffee?
Miriam1 Posted May 15, 2006 ^ i used to think the more expensive something is the better it is.how silly of me.all their fancy named coffee drinks...caramel this choco that..is all that I bought, until i came upon this simple falafel store at my school one morning really in need of black coffee, and every other second cup tim hortons and starbucks was closed...thier sizes were funny too...a meduim was equal to a large in the other stores and honestly cost me 1.15...0.15 for tax....it was amazing...serious coffee, with all the spices too...it was just soo good you didnt need sugar in it...now that is good coffee..where sugar becomes unecessary. So i go there before all my morning classes...however....I am still madely inlove with the white choco macadeian nut cookies from second cup...that cost...i wont tell thier too expensive..it doesnt help that there is a huge second cup next my gym..it should be illegal..to have any ready made food stores built next fitness centers! lol g'day. folks
