Institutionalized Education is good and it will most likely get you somewhere in life. However, its not the only route. Infact, most rich people havent bothered learning skills to work for people, they learned how money works and how to manage people. p.s.good Xiin, you've to stop encouraging girls to aspire to be housewives (because you like the idea ). Most guys either dont like it or cant shoulder the responsibility.

Dropping out of school is intellectual punt! Most people can handle the intellectual and emotional demand of Higher Education and instead opt to throw up their hands out of cowardice. Or fear of failure. Whatever it is, it's inexcusable. Education is not only requirement for jobs in many industries but imperative in a modern world that continues in spades to get more and more technical. And thanks to the proliferation of information, in the future, not only will you need some form of Uni degree but will have to re-train yourself every few years to keep abreast of new knowledge. Resistance Posted July 27, 2006 The message is simple Education Education Education, learn as much as u can and by any means possible. But following the conventional method has its limits, and for me it stops at degree level, thereafter one must seek to increase their knowledge in a manner that suits their style of learning ... self-taught, practical learning and work and personal experiances are all forms of learning. And being a housewife is a form of learning in itself , if u can master it than bingo u've made good for urself and for him too. P.S remember there is no choice between studying, working or running a home .... do all three @ once, why limit urself, aim to be Super Xaliimo, a Super Farah only needs to do the 1st two. -Lily- Posted July 27, 2006 Vibe, you have already gotten some good and bad advice. I would tell you to carry on, even if you don't like it you will prove to yourself that you can get through things you don't like. You can't give up everything in life just because it gets too much. Yes there are many graduates with no jobs but it's a matter of choosing your degree wisely (with those in technical and specialist fields getting good jobs). I say get through it and you'll be proud of yourself. How many times have we sat in front of essays wondering what on earth we are doing sweating over white dead men's thoughts? Or even considering giving up whislt working on the final disseration project? Chin up and continue, you might regret it if you don't. For once I actually agree with SB, what's the world coming to. Good luck.
-Serenity- Posted July 27, 2006 SB, First of, I've had to pay a visit to the dictionary icon at the bottom to learn what a 'proctologist' does and eeew is all I've to say. I think you're confusing learning (which is the only way to get somewhere in life) with piling on accredited qualifications to prove you've learned. The latter begs of self insufficiency. Thats ma point. Vibe, the only reason these guys are encouraging you to trod thru school is because they dont blv you can make it otherwise. Really, how condescending are SOL folk? -Lily- Posted July 27, 2006 Amelia dear, you might not have enjoyed your degree but I find it hard to believe that you can say it added nothing to your life or that you would still think and be as articulate as you are now if you hadn't persued higher education. -Serenity- Posted July 27, 2006 Waterlily, dee waa sidee dadkiinu All I'm telling the girl is that there are other routes to being successful and independent if you dont dig school. School is good. No doubt. p.s. I was born articulate and a skilled persuader.

Didi Kong Posted July 27, 2006 Institutionalized schooling is a waste of precious time. People spend a life time of school on what they could learn in the span of 4-5 years at the most. The idea of going to school for long periods of time I'm totally against. Education is important but you just have to find an arrangement that works for you despite how hard it might be considering all the imposed conventionalism. If a housewife is what you want to be don't let anyone persuade you otherwise. You deserve to be happy.
-Serenity- Posted July 27, 2006 ^ Tell them Didi. These guys are telling the girl to join the millions of drones who catch 2 buses and the tube to be at their cubicle by 9am to help a rich man get richer.
ElPunto Posted July 27, 2006 Becoming educated and seeking knowledge are the correct goals in anyone's life. As to the method - institutionalized education is not the best method for everyone. But let's face it - life in the modern world demands accredited education. And running to house-wifery as opposed to choosing it is not the best way to go about it. ElPunto Posted July 27, 2006 ^^Institutionalized education is not a waste of time. It is only a waste of time to those who sleep thoroughout the lessons.
Resistance Posted July 27, 2006 ^^Amelia don't blame education on all that travelling tough ( this is London after all), at least is better than waking up 5am toclean the office before the working cattle arrive. If you wanna be an enterpenur go ahead girl, in fact am willing to work for u to help you get rich. Just rememeber only few can out to be tat and the rest are workers as they say. One thing to keep in mind, history does not remember rich men but real scholars ... the many scholars of Islam and non-muslims tat still insipire us today after hunderands if not thounsands of years. I know, caveman mathematics and all, but 6 years at the same salary level? C'mon! Each added year's experience should increase the pay. Within 6 years, they should be earning over £30k if they know what's good for them.
me Posted July 27, 2006 How about graduate, work for couple of years then start a business. Instead of being a wage slave forever. Or don't study at all and start an own business, working for other people is a waste of time and energy. So advice her to either finish her school, get some work experience and start an own business or just drop out and start an own business. There is no other option, or be forever unemployed or under employed
