Saba is not somali by national nor ethnic wise so stop claiming her man. You could appriciate the artist for her being simply an artist.

Don't be a simpleton. How do you determine she is not Somali or come to that naive conclusion? I am sure you missed all the terms we have been discussing.

Nephissa

Yarku muran jecelaa!

Nationality wise she's a Somali, but not ethnically. It appears sometimes we use words or phrase we have learned by word of mouth instead of the actual dictionary.

Nationality:

1. The status of belonging to a particular nation by origin, birth, or naturalization.

2. A people having common origins or traditions and often constituting a nation.

3. Existence as a politically autonomous entity; national independence.

4. National character.

5. Nationalism

Ethnicity:

1. Ethnic character, background, or affiliation.

2. An ethnic group.

Nationality is your birth right, your citizenship, the country you were born in.

Ethnicity is your bloodline you received from your parents...it describes your family's history.

Example:

Nationality: American

Ethnicity: Somali

and the reverse is true for her..bada bim bada bum. Waa dhamaatay!

Horta "Itoobiyaanka" ee hooyadeed ku sheegeyso, maxee ula jeedaa? Aniga "Itoobiyaan" Amxaar iyo Tigrey u aqaanaa. Haddee Oromo iyo waxaas ka wado, it is different. Koley hooyadeed Amxaar mise Tigrey waaye maadaama indhihii waa weynaa kuwaas lagu yaqaanay leedahay.

Thanks Nephthys for the definition.

MMA, I don't know if you have realized it or not, the so called "Somali-Bantu" constitute a bigger percentage of the population of the south but they are still systematically marganilized, persecuted, and exploited.

Khalaf,

Much ado about nothing really, the answer to your question is in the line after the one you qouted from my original post. smile.gif

Caamir and Nephthys,

You'll find that to be a very western concept, in much of the developing world a child takes the nationality of their father, even if their mother is a local. Legally she is considered an Italian, as she was not naturalised.. Which is why she was kicked out of Somalia.

I was born in an Arab country, their culture is a part of my roots but I'm NOT a national of that country.

I know the differeing racist legislations of Arab states in regards to naturalization, esp the member countries of GCC.
