A Fishing Boat Runs Aground At Gardafui Beach in Puntland

Bosaso (PP News Desk) — A fishing boat yesterday ran aground at Gumbuh in Gardafui region, according to the district administration.

The boat travelled from Yemen and was bound for Hafun Fish Factory where it would have been loaded with canned fish exported to South Yemen.

The fishing boat ran aground after engine failure.

A Technical fault caused the boat engine to malfunction, making it extremely vulnerable to being buffeted by winds to the beach.

Five Yemeni crew members on the boat hare safe, Gumbuh district administration said.
