Ngonge: Said the pointless old man with a pointless post.

How so, taking into consideration the number of people who were falling over to express their outrage in the other thread. I want to know how many will go out of their way to take up the offer of money for telling on others.

Also I'm sure you heard about the new council schemes coming in- which entitles you to £1500 for telling the council of a council house which is being sublet by the tenancy who no longer need the property or live else where and making money from it.

All this encourages people to join the snooping community. Is it pointless to wonder how many in our community find it okay or acceptable to take up these offers and report these activities. What is your problem?

^^ Horta don't bite my head off, young lady. You don't want to see me angry. I pour sticky oil on white hijabs when I'm angry you know. icon_razz.gif

But it is pointless because it works on 'ifs' and 'buts'.

Lets assume a hundred people took part in this poll of yours. Judging by the reactions of the past couple of days, lets assume that 70% will vote 'hell yes'. Of that 70%, how many will do it if the person taking part in such fraud was a family member? How many will do it if it were a good friend? How many will do it if the person doing it had a real sob story involving debts, loan sharks, dying relatives in Somalia and a million other tear inducing tales that would soften the hardest Somali heart?

Of those voting 'no', how many will be doing it out of bravado, going against the grain or simply out of support for such fraudulent practices?

So, you see, this poll is not likely to give us any solid results. It is as pointless as a poll judging the blinding handsomeness of the gap in my front teeth (with o la la being the top answer of course).

^^^Those are just follow up questions- which are all valid and can give us more information. But I am not designing a questionnaire here. I just wanted an initial indication, getting people to qualify their answer is a different stage.

Most things do work or ifs and buts and with exceptions- those grey areas are present in all areas.

Even though I'm outraged by the actions and perceptions of SOME of our people, I would never report anyone because 10 out of 10 tims, there are innocent children in the midst of all of it and I would never do anything to harm the innocent.

lol@juxa..I have never thought of reporting anyone, despite of how I feel. There is a better way of getting the message through,if you talk through options with those whom you know..Sometimes,they dont know its is possible to live without claiming cayda.
