It is beginning to look like he really does not have the entire support of the military. He is heavily relying on Amhara Liyo Police and militias. It also looks likes Afwerki might have played Abiy. galbeedi Posted November 10, 2020 Afwerk is smart. A weakened Ethiopia is a blessing for him. He and Farmaajo should stay away from this Amhara tribal war. The Amhara want Eritrean port of Assab, and if they get their way they might take it by force.
Che -Guevara Posted November 10, 2020 Apparently, Eritrea has joined the war, turning the conflict into regional war. Let's see how Sudan and Egypt react.

galbeedi Posted November 11, 2020 This is a tribal war. THere are a lot of non state actors, especially Amhara armed by Abiy. When you give weapons to clan or ethnic militia, you might reap what you saw. Other than Anhara propaganda No one knows what is going on. THose with inside knowledge say, the idea of separation isn't a random thought that TPLF developed in the last few months. This was their plan B for a long time. I do not think the Amhara militia could defeat the TPLF fighters. Some even say that the TPLF is playing victim and only resort for self defense in the early weeks of the war, and will counter attack after the failure of negotiations and might even attack Gondar, one of the largest amhara towns in the north. Che -Guevara Posted November 11, 2020 Galbeedi, The only images we are getting from Amhara extremists. The reality is no one knows what's going on or who has the upper hand. The only thing we can be sure of this conflict will be protracted one contrary to what Abiy is saying.
galbeedi Posted November 11, 2020 Che, Why Abiy keep addressing the international community to justify his actions for the last few days?
